I’ve been attempting to switch to more natural products over the past year and decided to try a few products from the Yes To line. The pore scrub works well although I don’t think I agree with the “daily” title, it’s a very rough exfoliant and using it every day was too harsh on my skin so I use it about twice a week and have seen a great decrease in acne pop-ups. The moisturizer I just cannot make a decision on, it makes me greasey so I only use it at night but I can’t tell if its making a difference with my acne or not. I can probably take it or leave it, but the scrub is wonderful and I recommend it highly!
Currently, I am not blonde but my hair is naturally blonde and for a totaled seven years I colored it to a different blonde. So I am no stranger to blonde hair care. I purchased after an brassy-hair mishap this summer. It did work, but not by following the box directions. Using it as a shampoo really dried out my hair so after some good ol’ research online I mixed it with equal parts white conditioner and let it sit as a hair mask for a few hours while I binged Criminal Minds. It doesn’t make a big change, like using this will not make your hair silver or gray if that is what you are looking for it just subtly tones down brassiness.
My lashes are blonde, so even on days when I’m not wearing makeup I’m still wearing a light coat or two of mascara. Maybelline The Rocket is my go-to naked lash mascara because it doesn’t really add length or volume. It separates and just makes my lashes look like a better version of themselves. So, while I don’t recommend this for an intense night-time look its long lasting and doesn’t flake for a more simple or plain look.
My nails, ever since I’ve been born and no matter what I seem to try, are so flakey. I love doing my nails but nail polish usually looks bad within like 12 hours of applying it, which is far more work on upkeep than I am willing to maintain. I gave these Kiss Nail Dress strips a shot over the summer just for a fun pop of color and they are great! They’re not made from polish like many seem to be, and they’re thick. I tried Sally Hansens strips as well as ASAP 3D appliques and both of them chipped on me within a few days. I wore these for 2 weeks before I decided to take them off because I got tired of them pattern, they were still going strong and I’m sure I could have gotten at least another week out of them. I highly recommend checking them out! They have all kinds of fun patterns and designs as well as more tame and “adult”/Professional colors. I’ve bought them multiple times since and even used the extra strips on my toe nails (they lasted 2 months! They were still on but my nails needed trimmed/maintained so I took them off).
Do any of my followers also obsess over leighannsays's videos? As soon as I saw her tutorial with Maybelline's The Nudes palette I knew I needed to have it (it also took 4 stores to find it somewhere in stock - apparently everyone has to have it!). I love these shadows, they apply both lightly and intensely very well and don't smudge, fade, or crease throughout the day. Although I havent tried them without a primer I'm sure they're great that way as well! I can't imagine doing my makeup without this palette now, it's a godsend.
I had been on the fence with buying this because it is boosted as a light coverage and I prefer a medium-coverage foundation. I’ve been going for a more “natural-naked face” look lately though so I decided to pick up a sample and I fell in love. It lasts and mattifies oil like I’ve never experienced. No matter what foundation I use I typically still have to use oil-blotting sheets. The first day I wore this it provided great coverage and gave my skin a fresh-faced look. I hate to admit it but when I tried it I got home late and was too tired to wash my face so I just slept in my make-up and while it had rubbed off a little it was pretty much still intact and my face was still oil-free! Now, on the downside, I felt like the product worked far batter in the sample packaging than I’ve experienced with the whole bottle. It still covers well but doesn’t mattify as great. So I don’t know if there was some kind of difference between the sample and the bottle but it is noticeable.
I’ve never even considered buying a Xen-Tan product because they are so far out of my price range, but it was on sale at ULTA for $8. I misread it and thought it was an actual sunless tanner, which it is not. It does have color to it though! It has a very light scent and smells good, I’ve actually gotten complimented on my smell when I use it. It’s DHA magic, I didn’t even think it was possible to completely cover the smell of DHA but it does! I love the gold fleks they give you a nice summery glimmer but be warned the tint in the moisturizer is very dark!
I have always hated cream eye shadows because they always crease on me and I have really hooded lids so they smudge and I end my day looking like a mess! I bought it on a whim in the grocery store one day, and feel pretty neutral about it. This one isn’t perfect, it does still crease but it dries like powder shadow so no smudging! It’s very true to color, and I love using it for a lighter daytime smokey eye. I don’t use it too often because of the creasing but it is great considering it was only one dollar and I’ve had it for over a year.
It’s taken me so long to write this! I got this sample at the begging of summer and I loved both colors so much that I saved them for special occasions. I loved the Chocolate Soleil for contouring! It’s perfect because it’s matte, and I feel like shimmer often brings out my acne scars which is not something I want at all haha! I don’t feel like the endless summer lasts 16-hours but then again I was usually sweating when I was wearing it so maybe in daily life or to something like weddings or tame activities it would. I can’t express how great both of these are though, if you are looking for a bronzer either of these are perfection! Also Bonus: the chocolate soleil is made with cocoa powder so it smells like yummy chocolate!
